Minister opens ISO Forum

ISO forum “Achieving International Standards” kicked off yesterday under the patronage of Industry and Commerce Minister Zayed bin Rashid Alzayani.

The forum is held for the first time in Bahrain and the region and discusses how institutions adapt quality systems with the requirement of  the new version ISO9001: 2015 which will be adopted by the International Standards Organization in September.

On the sidelines of the forum, which attracted a number of quality experts, the minister stated: “Overall topics on the agenda is interesting  and enhances areas of development and improving performance of individuals and institutions, I wish them success and to repeat this kind of conference in Bahrain.”

Chairman of Bahrain Quality Society Dr. Khalid Khalid bomtaia said, “The first ISO forum comes as one of effective tools to stimulate application quality in all private and public institutions.”

He added “there are many companies around the world including Bahrain considered obtaining ISO certificate to reach the global.”

ISO Forum attracts eight speakers of quality experts in Bahrain and the world from OHSAS and Industrial Consultants. On the first day of the forum  Head of quality and performance measurement at the CSB Amel Alninali presented a working paper entitled “Quality Management in the public sector challenges and difficulties and improvement mechanisms”. On the second day, Alia Almanaai and Reem Marhoom presented workshop under title “CSB’s experiences in internal quality audits fields”.
