BenefitPay grows, backs small & home-based businesses
Manama : BenefitPay, Bahrain’s national electronic wallet, is transforming the way payments are made in the Kingdom with more leading brands as well as small and home-based businesses elevate their business into the digital age. BenefitPay the National E-Wallet, delivered by BENEFIT, is the only ePayment system in the Kingdom that includes more than 18 of the country’s leading banks, since its launch in July last year. Its mobile application allows the processing of payments using a secure payments app via debit cards, Credit Cards and Accounts.
The latest update of the application was the launch of instant Peer to Peer (P2P) transfers using mobile phone numbers. BENEFIT was established in 1997 and is licensed by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) as an ancillary service provider to the Kingdom’s financial services industry. The growing list of leading merchants includes Esquires Coffee Houses, AlMeer group, RadioShack, Adidas, Olympia Sports, Reebok, Jasmis, VOX Cineco City Centre Bahrain, Vox Cinema Avenues Bahrain and much more.
“We are happy to witness a significant surge in the number of merchants signing up since we launched BenefitPay last year. In particular, we are pleased that more small and home-based businesses, such as Instagram businesses in Bahrain are also taking advantage of the easy application which adds digital-age sophistication without the need for added investment,” said Abdulwahid AlJanahi, Chief Executive Officer at Benefit. BenefitPay supports all types of Small and Medium Enterprises’(SME) registered with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry as well as small, virtual or home businesses listed by the Ministry of Social Development.
