Top int’l speakers to join eGovt forum & IT expo

Several top international speakers will converge on Kingdom for the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum & IT Expo 2018 which will be held on 7th & 8th this month at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Bahrain, announced organising committee. The forum, in its 9th edition, will cover a set of specialised sessions which will address Cloud Computing, Cyber-security, Blockchain technology, Data Analytics and Digital Transformation.

The event is held under the patronage of Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa - Deputy Prime Minister, Chairman of the Supreme Committee for Information & Communication Technology. The first day will address the topic ‘Cybersecurity & Privacy’ which will gather Larry D.Johnson, CyberSponse Chief Executive Officer, from the US. The session also includes the participation of IronNet Cybersecurity Vice President for Strategy & Partnerships Jamil N. Jaffer, Huawei Technologies Company Chief Security Officer Donald Purdy along with UK’s ITC Secure Cybersecurity Director Arno Robbertse. The first day will also discuss the second track ‘Digital Transformation Experience’ which covers regional and international experiences in this field.

On a local level, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa - Minister of Justice & Islamic Affairs and Awqaf– together with Zayed bin Rashed AlZayani - Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism – will discuss during a Ministerial Panel the digital transformation in the public sector Bahrain within the judicial and commercial sectors. The second day will focus on ‘Operating on Cloud Computing’ which will uncover the true potentials of cloud computing, managing organizational change and culture impact during cloud transformation as well as highlight the role of the private sector in supporting the cloud.

Other topics for discussion include: ‘Data Analytics: Opportunities & Trends’ and ‘Blockchain: Emerging Trends’. The final topic will cover aspects of the national framework to put Blockchain in action, public sector digital transformation using Blockchain and how Blockchain is revolutionizing business processes.
