Gulf Air announces new baggage policy
Gulf Air said it is launching a new and simplified baggage policy providing more choice and clarity to travellers. The newly revised baggage police will take effect on 28 October 2018 for all tickets issued on or after the date.
Customers will be entitled to bring one, two or three bags free of charge, depending on their fare type, route and Gulf Air Falcon flyer status. According to a statement of the GF website, effective Sunday, all Gulf Air passengers flying to/ from India, Pakistan or Bangladesh are permitted to checkin a maximum of two pieces of baggage, with a maximum combined weight as per ticketed baggage weightallowance. It also states that for Gulf Air Falconflyer members’ additional baggage weight allowance is not impacted.
The airlines further states that checked baggage allowances on tickets issued wholly on Gulf Air operated flights will be limited to a maximum of 2 checked baggage at 32kg each. Children, aged 2 years and older, travelling on Gulf Air operated services, get the same checked baggage allowance as adults plus a child’s collapsible stroller/pushchair and a child’s car seat. Infants, aged under 2 years, get a special allowance of 15 kg for checked baggage, plus a collapsible stroller/pushchair and an infant car seat.
