Batelco, Huawei sign deal for data centre
Batelco announced signing a partnership agreement with Huawei to build an Uptime Institute Certified Tier III Data Centre. The agreement was signed by Batelco Bahrain CEO Mohamed Bubashait and An Jian, President of Carrier Business Group, Huawei Middle East Region yesterday during GITEX 2018 held at the World Trade Centre, Dubai.
The data centre will have a power capacity of 1.3 MegaWatt. Following the signing, Bubashait said, “Investment in IT infrastructure, especially data warehousing and processing, is a priority for the company as part of its strategy to deliver smart digital solutions including data storage and cloud computing solutions.” An Jian, President of Carrier Business Group, Huawei Middle East Region, said that the new Centre at the Company’s Hamala Campus will be built to world class specifications.
