Export value of national origin products up 34pc
The value of Bahrain’s exported national origin products increased by 34 per cent to BD621 million during the third quarter of 2018, from BD465m in the year earlier quarater, latest iGA report said. The report by Information & eGovernment Authority also places Aluminum oxide as the top product imported to Bahrain during the third quarter, with China and Saudi Arabia holding the top ranks for imports and exports, respectively.
Meanwhile, the trade balance, difference between exports and imports, the value of the deficit of the trade balance reached BD679m during the quarter versus BD621m for the same quarter of the previous year with an increase of 11pc. According to the report, the value of imports increased by 18pc as it reached BD1.417 Billion during the third quarter of 2018 versus BD1.203bn for the same quarter of the previous year, while the top ten countries account for 66pc of the imports value and 34pc for other countries.
Aluminium oxide emerged as the top product imported to Bahrain with BD107m, while the non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates as the second with BD64m. Four-wheel drive cars were the third products with BD50m during the third quarter of 2018. When it comes to exported national origin products, top ten countries accounted for 81pc of the exported national origin value and 19pc for other countries.
