Sino-Russian widebody aircraft takes on Airbus and Boeing
China and Russia have unveiled a life-size model of a wide-body long haul jet at China’s largest airshow, giving public shape to their joint efforts to break into a market dominated by Boeing and Airbus.
The CR929 plane is being developed by China-Russia Commercial Aircraft International Corporation (CRAIC), a joint venture between Commercial Aircraft Corporation of China (COMAC) and Russia’s United Aircraft Corp (UAC).
The fuselage will be 63.8m long and 5.92m wide, and wing span will be of 63.9m. It will have a passenger capacity of 280 seats in a three-class configuration, with a range of 12,000km.
