Occupancy rate jumped 20pc: says BTEA CEO
Bahrain International Airshow has increased the occupancy rate in the Kingdom’s four and five-star hotels by 20 per cent, said a top official yesterday.
According to CEO of BTEA, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, the Kingdom has witnessed an economic surge in tourism facilities such as malls, restaurants and local cafés during the event during the period. The Airshow, he said, also provided the Kingdom with a great opportunity to showcase the Kingdom as a tourist destination capable of hosting the world’s largest event The fifth edition of the Bahrain International Airshow was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
Shaikh Khalid further reiterated the importance of such international events and exhibitions in driving an increased number of tourists to Bahrain and bolstering its competitive position.
