GPIC wins IFA SHE excellence award
The Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC) has been awarded the Gold Medal for excellence in health, safety and environmental conservation. The recognition came on the sidelines of the International Fertilizer Association’s (IFA) Strategic Forum hosted by the Chinese capital, Beijing, on November 13 and 14.
In a statement, GPIC President Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery said the company is committed to the principles of health, safety and environmental protection for years and aware of all the risks and environmental threats resulting from Bahrain’s industrial boom.” The meeting was attended by representatives of the Chinese and Indian Government and other top speakers.
An overview of the rapid changes in Chinese and Indian political trends and the impact of these rapid transformations on the global fertilizer industry were discussed. Both India and China account for 42 per cent of world demand, while their share of production is about 38 per cent
