Create culture of creativity, innovation, says Dr Mirza

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr Abdulhussain Mirza yesterday nudged HR leaders here to introspect and create programmes capable of creating a culture of creativity and innovation. HR leaders and training professionals have to play an important role in the management of human resources in the modern era, said Dr Mirza citing a recent example of the government in the field of stimulating administrative innovation.

The minister talked about the programme of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, put forward two months ago, in which all the state employees participated in giving more than 560 ideas. Fifty of these were initially selected, the Minister said adding that 12 made the final cut. Twelve ministries participated in the evaluation.

“Such programmes help create an environment and a culture of creativity and innovation,” the minister said. He was addressing the opening ceremony of the 7th Annual Human Resources Management Conference at the Diplomat Radisson Hotel. Global and regional companies and experts in human resources and major competent organizations are attending the conference organised by the Roshcom Foundation.

“This important event marks the seventh time that this conference was opened since its first meeting in April 2009. We are all aware that we are living in a rejuvenated world, indeed a rapidly changing world,” the Minister added. The conference, which runs through November 28 and dedicated to human capital management and training needs, attracts HR leaders and training professionals. The event includes three interactive workshops on important human resources strategies.
