Bahrain Entrepreneurship Organisation formed
Feryal Abdulla Nass yesterday announced the launch of Bahrain Entrepreneurship Organisation, a first of its kind institution in the Kingdom. The organization will deal with entrepreneurship issues and support the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kingdom by encouraging young people and women entrepreneurs, in particular, to start and develop their businesses. This will contribute to the achievement of the objectives of Vision 2030 under the auspices of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and diversify sources of non-oil income of the national economy.
In its first official statement, Nass said its main objectives are to focus on three main points “First of all, to provide a platform that promotes innovation and the exchange of experiences in the economic field. Secondly, to support the development of the economy as well as to enhance and encourage competitiveness. Thirdly, to provide new opportunities to develop the capabilities of youth in the fields of innovation and creativity.”
The organization was formally announced on 9 May 2019, in the Official Gazette of the Kingdom, as per an edict issued by the Minister of Labour and Social Development, Jameel Humaidan. The Board of Trustees of the Foundation includes 11 members: Feryal Abdulla Nass as Chairwoman and Sheikha Mariam bint Hamad Al Khalifa as Vice-Chairwoman.
Other members are Shaikha Mariam bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, Huda Al-Alawi, Eman Nooruddin, Doris Martin, Badria Sharif Al Awadhi, Emma Al Mansouri, Noora Al Dosari, Yasmin Alhilli and Narise Qambar. The 11 members of the Board of Trustees will serve a term of three years and further terms to be deemed by secret ballot.
