Adeeb Ahamed honoured as NRI Businessman of the Year

The 13th edition of Dhanam Awards held at Le Meridien Hotel, Kochi, on Friday, honoured Adeeb Ahamed with Dhanam NRI Businessman of the Year 2018 title. Adeeb Ahamed spearheads LuLu Financial Group that runs 180 branches worldwide; Twenty14 Holdings, the hospitality investment firm that owns London’s Great Scotland Yard Hotel among others; and Tablez, a fast-growing retail chain in UAE and India.

The jury, headed by Venugopal C Govind, leading financial expert and chartered accountant, picked the winners after a rigorous selection process. “I am truly honoured to accept the award for NRI Businessman of the Year. And in doing so, I am humbled to represent the NRI community, who are a crucial cog in the wheel of India’s development. I would also like to congratulate my fellow awardees who have carved a niche of their own in their fields of expertise,” said Adeeb Ahamed.

He further added, “I would like to thank the Dhanam group for this recognition and dedicate it to all my associates at my organization. This is a truly wonderful initiative to recognize such enterprising people, and this will go a long way in inspiring the business community.”

Other winners include Dr Viju Jacob, Managing Director of Synthite Industries Ltd (Dhanam Businessman of the Year award), Madhu S. Nair, CMD of Cochin Shipyard Ltd (Dhanam Business Professional of the Year award), Sajive Manjila, Chairman of Manjilas Food Tech Pvt Ltd (Dhanam SME Enterprise of the Year 2018 award) and Asha Sebastian Mattathil, Founder and Chief Designer of MOD Signature Jewellery (Dhanam Woman Entrepreneur of the Year award).
