Underwater theme park to add another exciting attraction

The world’s largest underwater theme park, set to open next month in Bahrain, with a sunken Boeing 747, will soon add another feature to its growing list of attractions. A replica of traditional Bahraini pearl merchant house will be submerged next to the plane at the diving site which will also have artificial coral reefs and other sculptures.

Diyar Al Muharraq, one of the developers in Bahrain, is overseeing the design and construction of the house aimed at giving drivers all around the globe the ultimate diving experience. “We have worked closely with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority to design and build a replica of a traditional pearl merchant’s house, covering an area of 900m2 as part of the world-class park to attract divers,” said Dr Maher Al Shaer, Diyar Al Muharraq CEO.

The park is a result of the partnership between public and private entities. The theme park, located around 50km from Diyar Al Muharraq, aims to revive the marine ecosystem and is set to become a hub for amateur and professional drivers from around the world. The park will cover an area of 100,000 m2, with its main feature being a 70m long Boeing 747 that has been submerged to help preserve the marine environment and its perpetuity
