Russian expo to boost trade ties
Russian goods and Services Exhibition opened doors yesterday at the Intercontinental Regency Manama with the participation of Russian exhibitors from a wide range of sectors. The expo, organised by the Food Wealth Committee of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI), is being held in cooperation with Russia Mufties Council.
In his address on the occasion, BCCI chairman, Sameer Nass, welcomed Russian delegation to the Kingdom and expressed pride in the deep-rooted Bahrain-Russia relation and the prospect of business between both friendly nations. The first deputy chairman of Russia Mufties Council and Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Dr Rushan Abbas Abbyasov stressed on the strong ties between Bahrain and Russia under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Dr Rushan Abbas Abbyasov highlighted the keenness of both governments to step-up cooperation at all levels, particularly economic and business. He thanked the Bahrain Chamber for organising this event and underlined the business and investment potentials for both business communities, and the importance of taking trade and partnership to their optimal levels.
The event included a wideranged exhibition for Russian goods and services companies with business activities in water treatment, textile and fashion, oil and gas, construction material, food, organic fertilizers, halal meat and poultry, medical equipment, IT systems and manufacturing. On the sidelines of the exhibition, business-to-business meetings were held between the Russian exhibitors and their local counterparts.
BCCI renewed its invitation to the business community to attend the exhibition, which concludes today. Timings are from 10 am to 3:00 pm in Riffa Ballroom at Intercontinental Regency-Manama.
