Pitch@Palace GCC 2.0 begins Bootcamp
The Pitch@Palace GCC 2.0 yesterday held a Bootcamp to prepare nine entrepreneurs for the upcoming regional competition. The entrepreneurs were selected after qualifying in their local Pitch@Palace competition. The 9 participating startups include Arabee, Aryam, CureTech, DocWhere, Hope, Flows, LARA, LOOMI and Mavi VR Studio.
The final ceremony of the second edition of Pitch@Palace GCC will be held on 27 November at Arad Fort, under the patronage of HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. Winners will compete at Pitch@Palace Global at St. James Palace in London, UK.
In his opening speech at the boot camp, Tamkeen’s Chief Investment and Marketing Officer, Dr Nasser Qaedi, emphasised the importance of initiatives such as Pitch@Palace to help boost economic growth and innovation. “During the Boot camp, the startups were exposed to high-level training and mentorship to prepare them for the upcoming competition, and to provide them with value-added entrepreneurial experience,” Dr Qaedi said.
For her part, Chief Executive, Pitch@Palace, Amanda Thirsk, said: “Pitch@Palace is a vibrant ecosystem of entrepreneurs and audiences. Pitch@Palace works with its cohorts of Entrepreneurs to support them with growing their businesses by making connections.”
Pitch@Palace GCC 2.0 is organised by the Labour Fund “Tamkeen” in collaboration with the Pitch@Palace initiative - launched in 2014 to provide a platform to amplify and accelerate the work of entrepreneurs. Since its launch in 2014, over 60 countries and over 1000 entrepreneurs have participated in Pitch@Palace creating more than 6,000 jobs.
