LuLu bags major tourism award

The President of India, Pranab Mukherjee gave away the National Tourism Awards for the year 2013-14  at a function held at Vigyan Bhavan, New Delhi. 

LuLu International Travel and Tourism, a division of LuLu Group bagged the “Best Overseas Tour Operator from West Asia & Africa region” award. Abhilash Valiyavalappil, Commercial Manager of Lulu Group along with Biju Nair, Sales and Marketing Manager Lulu International Travels received the prestigious award from the President of India in the presence of Dr. Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State for Tourism and Culture. 

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India annually presents National Tourism Awards to various segments of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry. These awards are being given to State Governments/Union Territories, classified hotels, heritage hotels, approved travel agents, tour operators and tourist transport operators, individuals and other private organizations in recognition of their performance in their respective fields.

Commenting on the award, Yusuffali MA, Managing Director of LuLu Group said, “We are honoured to have won this prestigious award from the Government of India. This will give us further encouragement to boost the potential of Indian tourism in the Middle East and Africa. Tourism sector is very important for the future growth of India as it is one of the top foreign exchange generator.”
