China's foreign trade volume fell by 11 percent

Beijing

Chinese foreign trade volume decreased by 11 percent year on year during the first two months of 2020, to reach $ 591.99 billion, according to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs, today, Saturday.

This is the first time that the administration has disclosed such figures since the outbreak of the Corona virus, which originated in China last December.

Exports decreased by 17.2 percent and imports by 4 percent compared to January and February of last year, to settle at 292.45 billion dollars and 299.54 dollars, respectively.

A statement from the Customs Administration stated that the decrease is "mainly due to the effects of the corona virus outbreak and the Spring Festival holiday."
