Standard Chartered Bahrain announced activating a ‘working from home’ option for all its working parents, especially working mothers and pregnant women, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic situation. The arrangement, in place as part of its Human Resources ‘Flexible Working Policy’, is available to all its 400 employees in the Kingdom, the bank said.
Standard Chartered said it strongly encourages all staff, who are working mothers, pregnant women, individuals with chronic medical conditions, and those that have been in contact with individuals who have returned to Bahrain within the past 14 days, to activate Working from Home.
The policy commenced early in March, when the option was activated for working parents (mothers and fathers), to help assist their children, as a result of the suspension of schools. Abdulla Bukhowa, Chief Executive Officer of Standard Chartered, said the challenging situation the country and the rest of the world is going through has proven that a Working from the Home arrangement is now critical to ensure the safety of employees and our communities
