Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) has categorically denied rumours swirling on social media about dismissing their Bahraini staff.
They claimed that this was in conjunction with the implementation of the Standard Chartered Group’s global strategy and in preparation for the transfer of the call centre to another geographical location.
The bank confirmed that there was no intention to dismiss any of their call centre employees, stressing that the bank was keen to develop and raise the efficiency of employees, especially Bahrainis.
It added that it has already prepared a plan to re-assign the employees of this department to other locations without prejudice to the bank’s obligations towards them.
“Standard Chartered Bank, in turn, is committed to contributing to the growth and enrichment of the Bahraini economy and society. Bahrainis make up the majority of its employees, who are trained and developed at all levels, in the belief of the bank in the competence of Bahraini bankers that have been proven over decades regionally and globally,” it said.
