Industry Minister chairs GCC Trade Cooperation Committee meeting

Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Zayed bin Rashid Al Zayani, chaired today an extraordinary virtual meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Trade Cooperation Committee to discuss the implementation of the decisions of the Supreme Council concerning commerce.

The meeting convened with the participation of GCC Secretary-General, Dr Nayef bin Falah Al Hajraf and the GCC Ministers of Commerce.

From the Bahraini side, the meeting was attended by Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Acting Undersecretary Imen Ahmed Al Dosari, Assistant Undersecretary for Local and Foreign Trade Shaikh Hamad bin Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Director of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) Development Directorate Shaikha Abdullah Al Fadhel and Acting Director of Foreign Trade and Industrial Property Rana Ahmed Al Ahmed.

The meeting spotlighted several issues including the endorsement of the amended law for consumer protection in the GCC countries, the amended patent law of the GCC countries, and the affirmation of the Supreme Council of the importance to continue supporting SMEs.
