HSBC Bahrain has announced the launch of VOICE ID to its telephone banking customers as part of an ongoing investment in next-generation technologies to make the bank’s services easier and more secure to use.
HSBC is the first bank in Bahrain to launch this unique and secure way to access bank accounts.
“We are very excited about this new addition to our improved digital technologies. This is part of our ongoing strategy to digitize banking services and products and to innovate on customer service by blending digital capabilities with exceptional people,” said Shakofa Asghar, Head of Wealth and Personal Banking in Bahrain.
With the use of voice biometrics, HSBC Voice ID creates a unique voiceprint for customers which are used to verify their identity.
The new secure form of verification aims to make the process easier for customers.
“All customers over the age of 18 can register for VOICE ID in a few very simple steps,” Asghar added.
“It will only take a few minutes to complete the HSBC Voice ID requirements.”
Customers need a bank account or credit card, consolidated phone banking PIN, a valid phone number and a mobile device that can receive SMS to register for VOICE ID.
HSBC has been in Bahrain for 76 years and has a commitment to bring new ways of banking to a dynamic market in the Middle East region.
