Bapco Modernization Programme records 40 million hours without Lost Time Injury

The Bapco Modernization Programme achieved another significant health, environment and safety milestone of 40 million continuous work hours without Lost Time Injury or work-related Illness in the workplace, Significant Environment or Community exposure, Serious Equipment/Asset Damage or Fire Event.
Bapco’ s Chairman and Chief Executive Dr Dawood Nassif announced this in early March 2021, Commenting, Dr Nassif said, “On behalf of Bapco’s Leadership Team, I would like to express my pride and appreciation to our BMP Integrated Project Management Team of Bapco, Worley and our partners TTSJV with their various subcontractors who continue to demonstrate an excellent level of personal and process safety performance and achievement.
This does not come by chance but is rather reflective of teamwork and supportive efforts of our entire BMP workforce, related partners, contractors and stakeholders.”
Recent Construction Progress Milestones included:
• Thousands of workers engaged at BMP Brown and Greenfield work areas every day and many thousands more scheduled to join them over the next few months.
• 1 Million Diameter-Inches of pipe fabrication completed and 70% of structural steel of pipe racks installed.
• 6,500 Ton+ Bullet Storage Vessels and 3 Cryogenic roofed Tanks installed.
• 207,000 cubic meters of concrete poured • 65,000 meters of underground piping laid.
• 490 BMP Tie-ins (40.5%) completed in largely existing live Plant Process areas - another 717 yet to go Dr Nassif added: “Achieving 40 Million hours is a major safety, health and environment milestone, but there is still plenty yet to do as we move forward, and I trust that the same enthusiasm of the workforce coupled with our winning diligent and caring BMP Safety Culture, will continue to help us move towards the next significant 50 Million BMP project hours Milestone over the next few months”.
