Saudi, UAE, Brazil are Bahrain’s top trading partners

Saudi Arabia, Brazil and the United Arab Emirates emerged as the top trading partners of Bahrain during February, with the Kingdom exporting BD189 million and importing BD429 million worth of products.
According to the latest foreign trade report, Brazil ranked first when it comes to imports to Bahrain, as Saudi Arabia grabbed the top position among countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin.
The United Arab Emirates emerged top in the category of countries re-exported from the Kingdom. The Information &eGovernment Authority report revealed that the value of imports increased by 9% to BD 429 million in February, from BD394 million in the year-ago month.
However, Bahrain’s export of national origin products decreased 4% to BD189 million during February from BD196 million in the prior-year month.
Imports: Brazil ranks first
The top 10 countries - Brazil, China, Saudi, UAE, India, Italy, Australia, USA, Germany, and Korea- accounted for 72% of the imports.
The remaining countries accounted for 28%. Brazil ranked first with total imports of BD89 million, China second with BD53 million, and Saudi Arabia was third with BD30 million.
Iron ore top imports
Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrate emerged as the top product imported into Bahrain, with a total value of BD88 million.
Aluminium oxide was second with BD25 million, and four-wheel drive cars third with BD14 million.
Exports hit BD189 million
The value of exports of national origin products decreased by 4% to BD189 million in February from BD196 million in the same month of the previous year.
The top 10 countries accounted for 82% of the total purchase from Bahrain, with the remaining countries accounting for 18%.
Saudi tops
Saudi Arabia ranked first among countries receiving Bahraini exports of national origin, importing BD 48 million worth of products from Bahrain.
The United States of America was second with BD22 million, and Egypt third with BD21 million. Agglomerated iron ores and concentrates alloyed emerged as the top products exported during February 2021 with BD37 million. Unwrought aluminium alloys was second with a value of BD30 million and aluminium wires third with BD11 million.
Four-wheel cars drive reexports
The total value of re-exports decreased by 17% to reach BD62 million from BD75 million in the prior-year month. The top 10 countries accounted for 89% of the re-exported value, while the remaining countries accounted for 11%.
The United Arab Emirate ranked first with BD21 million, Saudi Arabia second with BD14 million, and the Sultanate of Oman third with BD8 million.
Four-wheel drive cars emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with a value of BD7 million.
Agglomerated iron ores and concentrate alloyed came in second place with BD6 million, and gold-ingots third with BD4 million.
