Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) and national carrier Gulf Air continue to strengthen their long-standing partnership, which is now in its 17th fruitful year.

As title sponsor of the annual Formula 1 Bahrain Grand Prix, Gulf Air has been crucial to the race’s success from its very first edition in 2004 until today.

The aviation giant is the ultimate ambassador of the event as it showcases both the Kingdom and the race weekend on the global stage.

Each year, a few minutes before the lights go out for the 57-lap Grand Prix, a spectacle takes place in the skies above BIC with the traditional Gulf Air flypast featuring one of the carrier’s flagship aircraft.

BIC Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa said: “The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix is always an exciting time for BIC, our partners Gulf Air and for the Kingdom of Bahrain as a whole.

“We are extremely grateful for Gulf Air for their long term association with our race, as we work together to use the significant and global platform of the race to showcase what Bahrain has to offer.”

Gulf Air’s Acting Chief Executive Officer Captain Waleed AlAlawi commented: “We are honoured to have been the title sponsor of the Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix ever since it made history as the first Formula 1 Grand Prix to be held in the Middle East in 2004.

“We’ve built a close cooperation with the Bahrain International Circuit, working hand in hand to promote Bahrain globally, in our role as the Kingdom’s national carrier.”

The F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix 2021 takes place Friday to Sunday (Editor’s note: March 26 to 28) at BIC. All eyes will be on Sakhir for the first of a record 23 rounds on this year’s F1 season calendar.

Tickets to the year’s F1 weekend are now available for all vaccinated or COVID-19 recovered individuals. They are being sold at a single discounted price of BD100 across stands for the three-day event.

Comprehensive measures will be in place at the circuit at all times to ensure spectators can enjoy the excitement of F1 in a safe environment.

Tickets can be purchased online at BIC’s official website, bahraingp.com, or at BIC’s stand at City Centre Bahrain, located on the ground floor near gate number three in the West Court. The stand is operational every day between 10am and 10pm.

Aside from the F1 racing, fans can also look forward to plenty of action in the two support series: the FIA Formula 2 Championship featuring the sport’s potential future superstars and the Bahrain-based Porsche Sprint Challenge Middle East with some of the region’s top drivers in the fray.

In addition to this, attendees will be able to enjoy a wide array of fun activities across BIC’s F1 Village vending area, including a selection of wild outdoor rides and activities.

All these attractions and so much more await everyone at BIC this F1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix weekend. They will surely get the vending area bustling with excitement, all while ensuring that the event proceeds in line with government health advice.
