US-based electric vehicle company Triton EV is scouting for locations in the Middle East to set up its regional hub and counts Bahrain among its top choices, according to one of its top executives Mohammad Mansoor.

Fresh from signing a deal with the state of Telangana, India, for setting up a million square feet, US $208 million, manufacturing facility and to invest over US$ 5 billion in the next five years, Triton EV’s Head of India Development is now scouting for Middle East locations to set up its regional headquarter.

Bahrain lucrative location

“Bahrain has many advantages to be a regional powerhouse for Triton,” he added. “Under the foresighted leadership of the Crown Prince Prime Minister HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Kingdom has made huge strides to make the renewable energy sector one of the main pillars of the government’s plans for economic diversification.” “Encouraging clean energy comes within the framework of achieving Bahrain Economic Vision 2030, and achieving the vision recently led to the first electric cars charging station being inaugurated in Saar.” “These are all indicators of Bahrain’s keenness to be at the forefront of sustainable and clean energy in the region, and that increases its attractiveness and makes it a very lucrative location for EV companies,” Mansoor noted.

Himanshu Patel, Founder and CEO of Triton EV applauded Bahrain’s initiatives under the guidance of the Crown Prince Prime Minister in ushering in the shift to electric vehicles.

Mansoor, who has been active in the Bahrain business sphere for the past many decades, has been instrumental in clinching the deal with the Telangana government.
