Ithmaar Bank wins Mastercard award for best loyalty programme

Ithmaar Bank, a Bahrain-based Islamic retail bank, announced receiving the Best Bank Loyalty Programme Award from Mastercard. The annual award was presented to Ithmaar Bank in recognition of its successful, customer-focused credit card rewards programme, Ithmaar Rewards. “Ithmaar Bank is committed to becoming one of the region’s leading Islamic retail banks,” said Ithmaar Bank General Manager, Retail Banking Group, Mohammed Janahi. “We recognise that to do so, we must put our customers at the heart of everything we do and continuously improve their banking experience by offering them best-in-class solutions,” he said.

Ithmaar Rewards, one of Bahrain’s most rewarding loyalty programmes, offers Ithmaar Bank Mastercard credit cardholders loyalty points for when using their credit cards.

The accumulated points can then be redeemed online to purchase airline tickets from a choice of 700 airlines, make hotel reservations from a choice of 150,000 hotels, or book car rental services worldwide. Ithmaar Rewards also allows cardholders to use their points to earn cashback, make donations, or transfer their points to one of several partner loyalty programmes, such as Etihad Airways and Centrepoint Shukran cards. Ithmaar Bank credit card customers are automatically enrolled in Ithmaar Rewards, and there’s no need for them to register before they can start earning points.
