The Applied Science University (ASU)’s vision to offer the programmes of the College of Engineering in collaboration with London South Bank University was perfectly in line with the Higher Education Council’s strategy and global trend to focus more on STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) subjects, stated the university's College of Engineering Acting Deputy Dean Dr Marwan Aouad.

He pointed out that admissions and registration are now open to students who wish to join the College of Engineering for the first semester of the academic year 2021/2022.

Dr Marwan Aouad further explained that these academic programmes aim to diversify the offered specializations and create new skills and capabilities that enrich both the educational field and the labour market, which is in line with the University’s internationalization strategy based on solid collaboration with reputable international higher education institutions, further developing the University’s scientific and academic status, and cementing its leadership position, especially in the light of its latest achievements on various rankings and league tables locally, regionally and internationally, on top of obtaining HEC’s Institutional Accreditation and meeting the quality requirements for BQA’s Institutional Review and Program Reviews.

He also highlighted that the programmes currently offered at the College of Engineering in collaboration with London South Bank University are the Bachelor of Engineering in Architectural Engineering and the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering, both of which have been launched after extensive study of the labour market needs in Bahrain, the GCC and the Arab regions.

It is noteworthy that Applied Science University has always been very keen on providing its students with the best educational services, as it constantly works to keep abreast of the latest trends and developments in higher education in the world and update its academic programmes accordingly to remain relevant to the current market needs in Bahrain and the region, and from that perspective, the University’s Management has been very active in forging strong and mutually-beneficial partnerships with universities and academic institutions with a distinguished academic reputation at the global level.
