Lulu showcases Korean food and popular culture in Bahrain

The growing popularity of K-food was showcased at Lulu Hypermarket’s ongoing Korean Food Festival. Inaugurated by Korean Ambassador H.E. Chung Hae Kwan, a whole world of Korean culinary experience awaits shoppers till November 17 at Lulu Hypermarket Dana Mall, Lulu Hypermarket Juffair and Lulu Hypermarket Atrium Mall, Sar with specially imported Korean food items such as the famous kimchi, different flavours of ramen noodles, seaweed crisps, sweet pancake mix and sauces.
These products are available at Lulu in Dana Mall, Juffair Mall and at Atrium Mall in Saar. There is a 30% discount in the form of Lulu shopping vouchers on all purchases of Korean items above BD4.
The opening ceremony was attended by members of the diplomatic corps, VIPS and Korean food enthusiasts. There was food sampling, cookery demos on the following weekend, and cultural shows including a popular game stall based on the K-drama hit “Squid Games”.
Korean Ambassador Chung said the K-food festival was part of the embassy’s efforts to share its cultural highlights with Bahrain. “I am very happy to share the best of Korean food with Bahrain’s residents through Lulu Hypermarket,” he said. “Many fans of Korean popular culture can explore in this week-long festival and get a true taste of our cuisine.”
“The year of 2021 marks the 45th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Korea and Bahrain and Lulu is very pleased to showcase Korean food for Bahrain shoppers,” said the Director of Lulu Group, Juzer Rupawala. “We welcome customers to experience a taste of Korea with Lulu.”
