The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance announced launching six learning academies yesterday for IT and digital transformation, in line with the economic recovery strategy.

The economic recovery strategy aims at training 10,000 Bahrainis and identifies IT as one of the most promising economic sectors. The move also coincides with relocating the Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance to its new headquarters in Bahrain Bay.

The new facility boasts cutting-edge infrastructure, multi-use halls, and highly qualified educational and administrative cadres. Ahmed Al-Nuaimi, the Head of the Centre for Digital Transformation and Project Management at BIBF, said the academies culminates a long journey in which it was able to provide more than 600 training courses inside and outside Bahrain.

The courses benefitted numerous students, graduates, employees, directors, CEOs, members, and chairman of the board of directors. “We’ve formed partnerships with major global technology businesses like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, and CompTIA,” Al-Nuaimi said, adding that the institute provides integrated training solutions in disciplines such as cyber security and artificial intelligence.

The six digital academies are for Digital Transformation, XTech & Digital Banking, Data Science, Cyber Security, Transformational Technologies, and IT. “These academies provide special training tracks, making it simpler for trainees to select relevant training courses,” said Al-Nuaimi. The Bahrain Institute of Banking and Finance is a non-profit institution affiliated with the Central Bank of Bahrain. Founded in 1981, more than 340,000 people have benefited from its programmes.
