Industry minister opens BD1.8 m ‘Ascon Control’ factory in Askar

A grand inauguration ceremony of the leading switchgear and panelboard manufacturing company Ascon Control’s new factory was held at Al Mazraa Industrial Park in Askar.
The Minister of Industry, Commerce and Tourism Minister Zayed R. Alzayani inaugurated the factory owned by Amad Group in the presence of Indian Ambassador Piyush Srivastava.
Khaled Fahad Alalawi (Assistant Undersecretary of Industrial Development), Khalid Salman AlQasimi (Director of Industrial Development), Khalid Alqallaf (Acting Director of Industrial Parks), Mahmood Ahmed Mujbel (Director of Communication and Awareness), Ravi Kumar Jain (Indian Embassy Second Secretary (HOC)) and other eminent personalities in Bahrain were also present.
A product unveiling ceremony was also held.
Minister unveiled Siemens Sivacon S4 System and Honorable Ambassador unveiled IndoAsian-Legrand Indocon System.
Amad Group Managing Director Pambavasan Nair and the team received the dignitaries & guests from various sectors.
Ascon is the authorised panel builder for manufacturing fully type tested low voltage switchboards under the license of leading brand Siemens and the authorised panel builder for IndoAsian (Legrand).
The factory is set up with an investment of 1.8 Million Dinars and will manufacture an approximate quantity of 72,000- 150,000 low voltage panels annually and the production targets the Kingdom of Bahrain market and the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
The minister commended the standard of the factory, which has been operating in Bahrain for 15 years.
He stressed the importance of the strategy which launched recently and which aims to increase the contribution of the industrial sector in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), boost exports, create rewarding jobs for citizens and support the transformation of this vital sector to enter the fourth industrial revolution.
The establishment of Ascon Control is a major milestone as it is the kingdom’s first switchgear factory by an expatriate.
Managing Director Pambavasan Nair expressed gratitude to the rulers of the kingdom, Minister Zayed R. Alzayani and all officials at the Industry, Commerce and Tourism Ministry.
The function was led by Ascon Control General Manager Anindya, AGM Ranjith and Technical Director Nithyanand and other senior staff of Amad Group.
