Zain Bahrain, a telecommunications industry innovator in the Kingdom, is investing in several Zain Youth Empowerment initiatives, including a focus on young women.

In association with the Bahrain Society for Training and Development, the operator trained more than 20 women for its Consumer Marketing & Sales and Customer Care divisions.

It also concluded the second edition of its Women in Technology program, which aims to set women on a path to success in the tech industry.

Seven women were trained in two divisions and graduated from the program in December.

In addition, 24 male and female Zain Youth members joined the Customer Care, Consumer Marketing & Sales, and Finance departments, while two out of seven recent graduates of the program became permanent employees.

In line with Zain Bahrain’s commitment to creating an inclusive culture, several members of the ‘We Able’ category (for differently-abled individuals) spent a day shadowing managers of their choice in a work environment designed to make them feel welcomed, secure, and comfortable.

In addition to the recruitment, training, and development programs, Zain Youth members participated in the 7ewar Forum to discuss the impacts of the pandemic on the workplace and help develop solutions to enhance employee productivity and engagement.

Zain Bahrain also participated in the Ahlia University Youth Connect Program, which was held under the patronage of the Minister of Labor and Social Development, Jameel Humaidan, as well as the University of Bahrain’s Annual Career Fair.

Zain Bahrain also arranged a one-week training program for Al Hekma International School (AHIS) students, which exposed them to the telecom sector and included mentoring sessions with managers of their choice.

“We are helping to prepare tomorrow’s leaders to take up positions of responsibility, reminding our stakeholders that youth empowerment is part of Zain Bahrain’s DNA.

It is central to our culture of innovation because we believe young people can introduce us to powerful new concepts that can change our world,” said Mohammed Isa, Recruitment, Employee Relations & Zain Youth Manager at Zain Bahrain’s Human Resources department.

“We are pleased to welcome our newest Zain family members and look forward to an action-packed youth calendar in 2022.”
