Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry election committee begins accepting candidacy applications

Bahrain Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) has started accepting candidacy applications for the board of directors starting yesterday and will continue until the 13th of March 2022, said Head of the Election Committee for the 30th Board of Directors of the Bahrain Chamber Adel Al Maskati. Applications can be submitted at the Client Care Department on the ground floor of the Chamber’s headquarters from 8 am to 2 pm.
According to Article (25) of the Chamber’s bylaw, the requirements for board membership candidacy are as follow: Presenting a copy of BCCI membership data, a copy of the candidate’s passport and ID card, a recent portrait picture, a letter from the company he/ she is representing, given that he/she is listed in the candidates’ list as a legal representative of the member company.
In addition to a copy of a valid Commercial Registration (C.R), a signed candidacy acknowledgement as per the Election Committee’s template, a receipt confirming the settlement of the candidacy application fees worth BD 200, and a certificate of good conduct from the competent department at the Ministry of Interior, which requires obtaining an acknowledgement from the Bahrain Chamber, signed and sealed by the Department of Legal Affairs.
Election Committee will review the candidacy applications and notify the member by fax or email of its decision no later than the next day following the submission of the application.
In case the committee decided not to list the member in the candidacy list for membership of the Board of Directors, he/ she may appeal against the decision within two days at most from the date of notification.
The Committee will then decide on the appeal and notify the member by fax or email of its decision no later than the end of the next day from the submission of the appeal.
