LuLu Group has been instrumental in supporting the Small and Medium Enterprises in the Kingdom, according to the Acting Chief Executive of Export Bahrain. Speaking to The Daily Tribune, on the sidelines of the inauguration of tenth LuLu store in the Kingdom at Danat Al Lawzi in Hamad Town, Safa Sharif Abdulkhaliq said Export Bahrain is extremely proud and honoured to be having the opportunity to partner with LuLu Group. “Our partnership goes back to one year and we acknowledge the support LuLu offers to SMEs in the Kingdom.

“Being a prominent retailer selling a wide spectrum of products LuLu has been offering great market access for many products of national origin - both in the local market and in the regional market. “As of now, 20 firms within the purview of Export Bahrain are supported by LuLu with the trade volume reaching in the excess of BD400,000 and we are hopeful that this will be on the increase. “The partnership has been a great platform and a better edition for us to promote made in Bahrain brands and products,” she pointed out.

Safa Abdulkhaliq praised LuLu Group for opening an all-women store. “This is a great decision. Over 30 per cent of businesses supported by Export Bahrain are being led by women and the decision by LuLu to open a fully-female staffed store is very much in line with the women empowerment programmes. “A large number of upcoming entrepreneurs in the Kingdom are women, who have transformed their homegrown businesses to large scale operations by opening factories and other facilities,” she added.
