Ahli United Bank (AUB) has introduced In-Branch Digital Onboarding for retail customers across Bahrain. The service will provide a new level of ease and simplicity, as applicants will not need to fill paper applications or provide multiple documents rather than presenting their valid National ID at the time of visit to the branch.
With the recent integration between the Bank’s systems and the government’s eKYC system (know your customer), accounts are opened immediately, giving the customer instant capability of funding the account. The Bank launched its self-service Digital Onboarding back in February 2021, which enabled customers to open their accounts, anytime and anywhere simply through the bank’s Mobile App.
At launch, this service stood out for requiring just one National ID card to locals and residents in Bahrain and with a variety of saving products to select from. “As we strive to deliver an exceptional customer journey, our new In-Branch Digital Onboarding service is designed to transform the account opening experience by offering fast service with instantaneous results,” said Suvrat Saigal, Deputy Group Chief Executive Officer – Retail Banking.
“These digital enhancements add momentum to AUB’s digital strategy, which aims to empower customers with a seamless account opening experience, while also mitigating the impact on the environment by providing paperless digital services and transactions.”
