Strengthening ties with AWS supports digitization and economic growth, says iGA Chief Executive

The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) Chief Executive, Mohammed Ali Al Qaed affirmed the importance of enhancing the ongoing partnerships with international tech companies that support government-led digital transformation efforts, enhancing the digital economy through advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence (AI).
He highlighted the Kingdom’s commitment to the IT sector and digital transformation, and the importance of continued investment in these areas. A host of support legislations and policies have helped create an environment that attracts global companies, such as Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The Vice President of AWS Worldwide Public Sector Sales EMEA, Isabella Groegor-Cechowicz, said that strengthening ties with AWS will simplify data entry and allow for unified payment processes based on Ministry of Finance and National Economy guidelines. More than 70% of IT operations at 72 government entities migrated to AWS’s Cloud.
