NBB backs INJAZ Excellence in ESG award

The National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) was the sponsor of one of INJAZ Bahrain 14th Young Entrepreneurs Competition Signature Awards, held on 28th and 29th June 2022 in Wyndham Grand Manama.

The two-day event was attended by over 200 students from 15 high schools and 10 universities across Bahrain NBB sponsored the “Excellence in Environmental Social Governance Award” which was presented by Deena Kohwari, a Team Leader of Commercial & SMEs Business Credit Review and Sustainability Officer at NBB to “Masoolytna from Modern Knowledge Schools”, while NBB’s Sustainability Committee members also held an awareness session on ESG and how to integrate best practices across business operations. NBB’s Sustainability Committee was also part of a judging panel which assessed the student submissions as part of the “NBB Excellence in Environmental Social Governance Award”.

Dana Buheji, Group Chief Human Resources & Sustainability Officer, said: “This event presented us with an opportunity to share our sustainability journey with the next generation of industry professionals and we hope to further extend this knowledge to the local youth and motivate them to embrace ESG practices in their future ventures as they enter the workforce and pave the way for new industry standards”, she concluded.
