US Bahrain’s 3rd export partner: Bahrain Chamber’s report

The United States is Bahrain’s 3rd export partner and 6th import partner, reports Bahrain Chamber. It also adds that the trade exchange between Bahrain and the United States rebounded in 2021 to reach 2.1 billion US dollars, after a downward trend that stretched between 2018 and 2020.

Bahrain’s export to the United States also recorded a notable increase for the same year, reaching 1.3 bn US dollars, as per the latest (Trade in Focus) report on the trade activity between Bahrain and the United States issued by the Studies and Initiatives Center of the Bahrain Chamber.

The report names aluminium, jewellery, and food preparations as top commodities, with export gaps estimated at 129 million, 56 m, and 36 m US dollars, respectively. Untapped import potentials are motor vehicles for personal transport with a gap estimated at 54 m US dollars; followed by fowls, cuts and offal, frozen with a 24 m US dollars gap; and parts of gas turbines with a 21 m US dollars gap.

The report also points out that Bahrain is the most diversified economy in the GCC region, with strengths in the financial services sector, technology innovation, manufacturing and logistics. As for the United States, manufacturing, aerospace and defence, and agribusiness are among the promising sectors for investment.
