The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has joined hands with the Bahrain Polytechnic to train 100 Bahrainis in Swift and iOS app development as part of the Apple iOS Programme. The first batch of 25 trainees will start in October at Bahrain Polytechnic - the first authorised Apple training centre in Bahrain and the second in the region. The course will focus on mobile development based on Apple Swift Fundamentals and Data collection. Training will be by Apple-certified trainers and will offer a professional certificate (Level 1 of the iOS App Development).

At the end of the programme, participants will receive a onemonth internship. Those interested can apply through the website of Bahrain Polytechnic: https://ios.polytechnic.bh. Registrations are open until the 25th of this month. Applicants do not require any programming experience.

They should attend an intensive morning programme seven days a week for nine weeks. Maha Mofeez, Acting Chief Executive of The Labour Fund (Tamkeen), said the move aims at ensuring that the private sector has access to high-quality professionals.

“Through this partnership with Bahrain Polytechnic, we aim to prepare qualified Bahraini talent in iOS development to keep up with the growing smartphone market and pave the way for them to get quality work opportunities and support their career development," she added. Bahrain Polytechnic CEO, Professor Ciaran O Cathain, welcomed this initiative from Tamkeen.

"We look forward to equipping Bahrainis with the technical skills and knowledge required to enter the field of iOS development and achieve career growth within this industry.” Bahrainis can get support for this course through Tamkeen’s human capital support programmes: Train Me, Train and Grow and Train and Place.
