Bahrain joins IMD World Digital Competitiveness Rankings 2022

The Kingdom of Bahrain has been included in World Digital Competitiveness Rankings 2022 issued by the International Institute for Management Development (IMD) World Competitiveness Centre.
Bahrain’s inclusion in the ranking solidifies Bahrain's commitment to developing a globally competitive digital ecosystem.
Bahrain has ranked among the top 15 countries in 14 criteria measured in the report, reflecting a robust digital infrastructure and a talented workforce.
Bahrain has established a strong infrastructure to enable digital transformation across all sectors. Bahrain came in 1stamong the Arab countries and 6th globally in Investment in Telecommunications.
Cybersecurity is another area where Bahrain performed competitively ranking 11th globally. Further, Bahrain ranked 14th in Communication Technology which the measures perception of how much communications technology meets business requirements.
In terms of uptake, Bahrain ranked 4th globally in both numbers of mobile broadband subscribers and internet users.
As a testament to our talented workforce, Bahrain came in the 13th position globally in Digital/Technological skills.
Further, Bahrain ranked in the top 20 in multiple workforce-related criteria including Women in Degrees ranking 3rd, 7th in terms of international experience of senior managers, 13th in attitudes towards globalization, and 19th in terms of the number of female researchers.
All of these factors contributed to Bahrain ranking in the 13th position in the Talent subfactor covering the aforementioned areas and more.
The Digital Competitiveness Rankings 2022 assesses 63 countries based on a total of 54 criteria clustered into nine sub-factors and three main factors.
The criteria are reliant on both hard data and survey responses from an executive opinion survey that was disseminated to mid-top-level managers in the private sector.
