BBK, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking, offers the “Starmaker” savings account, designed exclusively for children up to the age of 18. With this account, children are able to develop the practice of money management to maximize their financial resources.
With “Starmaker”, saving into children’s account will allow them to earn interest and thus help grow their savings.
The amount of interest the account earns is in stages, so the higher the money deposited in the account, the higher the interest earned.
With no minimum balance requirement, and an initial deposit of just BD 10, BBK offers this savings account with several features and benefits such as a “Visa” debit card with worldwide acceptance, as well as bank statements which can be accessed online or upon request from any BBK branch.
This is in addition to the free monthly standing order from the parent’s account to the “Starmaker” account. Additionally, the account can be added to the BenefitPay mobile application in order to conduct local transfers from and to the “Starmaker” account.
Children may also withdraw cash from any ATM that bears the “Visa” logo, including those operated by BBK in Bahrain, BENEFIT Switch, GCC Net, and as well as any Point-of-Sale terminal.
The “Starmaker” account is the best gift parents can give their children to help them develop healthy spending habits, improve their understanding of money management, and assist them through life’s ups and downs, stated Dr Adel Salem, General Manager of Retail Banking at BBK.
