Exports of Made-in-Bahrain products rise 6% in Q3 2022

Exports of Made-in-Bahrain products rose 6% in the third quarter of 2022, thanks to BD455 million worth of Unwrought aluminium alloy sales.
The figures are according to the latest foreign trade report released by the Information & eGovernment Authority, which announces a total deficit of BD54 m.
This is compared to a BD1m deficit recorded a year ago, which the report says is an improvement of the trade balance by 8739%.

Exports of national origin products rose by 6% to BD1.240 billion from BD1.174 bn in the year-ago quarter.
Saudi Arabia emerged as the top buyer of Bahraini products, with them importing BD260 m worth products from Bahrain. The US came second with BD171 m and the United Arab Emirates third with BD139 m.
The top 10 countries purchased from Bahrain accounted for 77% of the total exports, with the remaining countries accounting for 23%.
Unwrought aluminium alloys emerged as the top products exported during Q3 with BD455 m. Agglomerated iron ores and concentrates were second with a value of BD231 m, and aluminium wire (not alloyed) third with BD53 m.
Imports rise 9%
The value of imports increased by 9%, reaching BD1.471 bn during Q3 compared to BD1.349 bn for the same quarter the previous year. The top 10 countries accounted for 71% of the value of imports, with the remaining countries accounting for 29%.
China ranked first with a total of BD213 m worth of imports, Brazil second with BD188 m, and Australia third with BD123 m. Non-agglomerated iron ores and concentrates emerged as the top product imported into Bahrain with a total value of BD201 m, while aluminium oxide was second with BD113 m, and parts for aircraft engines third with BD78 m.
Re-exports increase 1%
Third-quarter re-exports of products increased by 1% to reach BD177 m, compared to BD175 m in the year-earlier quarter. The top 10 countries accounted for 80% of the re-exported value, while the remaining countries accounted for 20%.
Saudi Arabia ranked first with BD38 m, the United Arab Emirates second with BD37 m, and the United Kingdom third with BD14 m. Parts for aircraft engines emerged as the top product re-exported from Bahrain with BD31 m, other mountings fittings and the like for vehicles came in second place with BD10 m, and human vaccines came third with BD9 m.
