Bapco has issued its second Sustaina - bility Report for 2020/2021, prepared in accordance with the ‘Comprehensive’ reporting level as per internationally recognized Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Standards for sustainability reporting.
The report also provides linkages to Bapco’s contribution towards the achievement of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) 10 Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption in line with the Kingdom of Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2030.
Bapco formally adopted the UNGC 10 Principles initiative earlier this year. Sustainability reporting is an organisation’s practice of reporting publicly on its economic, environmental and social impacts and highlights positive contributions and also identifies opportunities to achieve continual improvements across the three pillars of sustainability i.e. economic, environment and social aspects related to an organization’s business.
Bapco Chief Executive Officer Dr Abdulrahman Jawahery congratulated all involved in the development of Bapco’s second Sustainability Report as per the GRI Standards with the theme of “Bapco of Tomorrow”.
He further stated that the report demonstrates the effective management of Bapco’s financial, social and environmental risks and obligations and also highlights opportunities for improvement.
