Southern Tourism Company, Nass Corporation sign logistics transport deal

Southern Tourism Company, a subsidiary of Bahrain Mumtalakat Holding Company “Mumtalakat”, announced that it has signed a logistics transport agreement with Nass Corporation, a company operating in the construction and engineering field, to transport machinery and equipment weighing more than 100 thousand tons to Hawar Islands.
The agreement signing ceremony took place at Nass Corporation headquarters, in the presence of Yusuf Al-Manea, CEO of Southern Tourism Company and Shawqi Al-Hashimi, CEO of Nass Corporation.
According to the agreement, Southern Tourism Company will extend logistics services to Nass Corporation to transport machinery and equipment to Hawar Islands for the renovation project of Hawar Hotel, which is being developed by Mumtalakat’s real estate arm, Bahrain Real Estate Investment Company “Edamah”.
Ahmed Al-Aseeri, Chairman of Southern Tourism Company and the representative of Mumtalakat said: “Through this agreement, Southern Tourism Company will contribute to the success of the Hawar islands development project by transporting the machinery and equipment required to rebuild Hawar Hotel, which is being developed by Edamah, the real estate arm of Mumtalakat.”
Yousef Al-Manea, CEO of Southern Tourism Company, said: “In line with the company’s strategy to extend our services in the logistics transportation field, we recently increased our operational capacity which enabled us to handle such large and complex projects.”
Shawqi Al-Hashimi, CEO of Nass Company said: “This project will contribute to the economic development of the Kingdom in alignment with vision 2030 established by His Majesty the King of the Kingdom of Bahrain - may God protect him.
The agreement we signed today reflects the importance of working together at a national level to overcome any challenges to implement projects that are of a national interest.”
Subsidiary of Mumtalakat
Southern Tourism Company, a subsidiary of Mumtalakat, was established in 2000.
The company owns the largest passenger fleet in the Kingdom providing passenger transport services to and from Hawar Islands, it also handles the operations of loading and unloading cargo from ships in all territorial waters of the Kingdom.
Headquartered in Al Dur Marina, Southern Tourism Company also provides transportation services to the government sector, including Bahrain Defense Force, the Electricity and Water Authority, and Hawar Beach Hotel.
