BDB’s CTO gets top award at World CIO Summit 2022

Nada Mohamed Abdulrahman, Chief Technology Officer at Bahrain Development Bank, received an Award for Most Outstanding Digital Transformation – 2022 during The World CIO 200 Summit 2022.

The summit held by the International Group of Artificial Intelligence and GEC Media Group and presented by Global CIO Forum was under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee.

Nada was awarded among more than 17 CIOs from private and public organizations. The selection of Abdulrahman was based on her significant role in the digital transformation journey BDB has been going through, developing the infrastructure for information technology at the bank by adapting the latest technologies and operating systems, and designing a unique customer experience through “tijara”, the digital platform arm of BDB to support small and medium enterprises that will be launched in the last quarter of this year.

Dalal Al Qais, BDB’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “It’s an acknowledgement of her accomplishments in this field throughout her career, especially within her role at BDB where she managed to lead the digital transformation project efficiently, which allowed the bank to further its advancement in integrating new technology and succeed in developing its infrastructure in line with the bank’s strategy and the rapid growth of technology and advanced applications in the banking sector The summit also included discussion topics around AI and digital transformation.
