The Gulf Hotel Bahrain Convention & Spa has named Chef Vineet Bhatia as a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE), in the 2023 New Year Honours’ list. Chef Vineet is the first Michelin-starred chef of Indian origin, to be recognised and rewarded for his services to UK Cuisine, Hospitality and International Trade.
The 2023 New Year Honours were awarded as part of the New Year celebrations in the United Kingdom, on merit for exceptional achievement and service. They are published twice a year in the official Crown newspaper - The London Gazette.
Popularly known as the face of progressive modern Indian cuisine, Chef Vineet has been awarded this honour for his success in revolutionizing Desi cuisine on a global scale. Inspired by his mother’s love for culinary arts and driven by his passion for cooking, his one-of-a-kind dishes are proof that the capabilities and evolution of Indian food is limitless.
Chef Vineet has certainly made his mark in Bahrain too, with the country’s first fine-dining Indian restaurant - Rasoi by Vineet, located at The Gulf Hotel. Considered as Bahrain’s favourite Indian Fine Dining spot, Rasoi is completing 8 years of successful journey this month.
