Various institutions and organisations around the world have focused a lot of attention on the reduction or elimination of carbon dioxide emissions from a process such as manufacturing or the production of energy.
In such a background, Bahrain’s KPMG organised a special seminar yesterday at the Rotana Downtown Manama to educate the business community in the country.
For this seminar, more than 100 business representatives from various fields in Bahrain came together to get an understanding of the special lectures held regarding decarbonisation mechanisms.
New measures taken in the world to decarbonise and emerging challenges were exchanged in this seminar.
One of the main objectives of this seminar was to create an environment and climate-friendly business background that goes beyond making money in the business world.
Representing the KPMG Institute, many academics presented their lectures based on many important facts and data.
Speaking to the Daily Tribune, Decarbonisation Subject Matter Expert and Partner of KPMG Netherlands Charbel Moussa said: “Our message to companies is that decarbonisation is not just a word anymore. It is happening now.
Speed is dependent on your location and your direction. So the train has left the station, if companies want to wait for regulations to come they are too late for the game.”
One significant idea that was reinforced in this session is that now is the time for corporate organisations to decarbonise; they should not wait for laws to be passed in a nation.
