Former minister AlShoala receives ‘Economic Creative Award’ for contributions to SDGs

The “Economic Creative Award” was conferred on former Minister of Labour and Social Affairs Abdulnabi AlShoala in recognition of his efforts to advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The award by the Union of Arab Creators, a member of the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, honours individuals, organisations, and businesses for their innovative contributions to achieving the SDGs.

AlShoala, the founder and advisor to AlFanar Investment Holding, was presented with the award on Tuesday at the Gulf Convention Centre in the presence of over 100 special invitees.

Speaking to The Daily Tribune, AlShoala, described the event as an “important initiative taken by the Creators Union of Arabs” and pledged to continue working for his country.

He also expressed his delight in receiving the Economic Creative Award and acknowledged its significance.

AlShoala has held several top positions in the government, including as the Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and as a member of the Shura (Consultative) Council and its Executive Committee.

He was also a board member in several semi-government organisations, including as Chairman of the General Organisation of Social Insurance (GOSI) – Bahrain and Second Vice Chairman of the Bahrain Chamber of Commerce.
