Marson Group to set up Bahrain’s first electric car plant in Salman Industry City

Marson Group, a Bahrain-based business and project development company, has partnered with American manufacturing corporation, GAUSS AUTO, to launch Bahrain’s first electric car factory.

The agreement was signed at a ceremony in Bahrain, attended by representatives from both parties.

The factory, named “GAUSS AUTO Bahrain,” will be located in Salman Industrial City in the American Trade Zone, and is set to produce a variety of electric vehicles, including two-wheelers, three-wheel electric tricycles, and passenger vehicles.

The vehicles will primarily be marketed in Bahraini and American markets, as well as other countries worldwide.

Marson Group will handle the construction and management of the plant, while GAUSS AUTO will provide technical expertise based on its extensive experience in the electric vehicle sector.

The factory is expected to take ten months to complete and begin operation.

Ali Al Mattar, a member of the Board of Directors of Marson Group, stated that the project aims to strengthen the national economy, diversify its sources of income, and provide more job opportunities for the local workforce.

Marson Group and GAUSS AUTO envision establishing Bahrain as one of the leading manufacturers and exporters of electric vehicles, thereby localizing this advanced industry.

“This project emphasizes our leadership role and primacy in innovative project implementation.

It will also be a conducive environment for building national expertise and will support Bahrain in achieving its ambitious goals outlined in its Industrial Strategy for the years 2022 to 2026 as well as the Kingdom’s objective to having zero carbon emissions by the year 2060.” 

During the signing of the agreement, which also took place in the presence of Yusuf Obaidli and Khalid Al Moosa, members of the Board of Directors of Marson Group, Feng Chen, CEO of GAUSS AUTO, said: “The partnership with Marson Group came after long and indepth discussions encompassing various responsibilities, tasks, work schedules, implementation mechanisms and feasibility studies, to ensure that GAUSS AUTO Bahrain is properly launched and operated and achieves its intended objectives,” According to Chen, the establishment of a factory for electric vehicles of the highest calibre will boost Bahrain’s competitiveness as a leading destination for investments and innovation.

He added: “We will supply the local, regional, and international markets with our products of electric vehicles following the most recent international technologies used in this industry, and everyone will be proud that these vehicles bear the slogan “Made in Bahrain”.
