The Legacy - The Gulf Family Business Forum 2023 is set to take place at the Royal Saray Resort by Accor in Bahrain from March 8th to 9th, under the patronage of Sameer bin Abdullah Nass, Chairman of Bahrain Chamber for Commerce and Industry.

With an expected turnout of over 200 participants from the region, the forum is being organised by Expressions Media in collaboration with Tamkeen and the National Centre for Family Businesses from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The Tharawat Organization from UAE is also joining the initiative to discuss various strategies for growing and sustaining family businesses in the GCC.

Ebrahim K. Kanoo Company and Al Baraka Group are among the key sponsors for the forum.

The Gulf Family Business Forum, also known as the Legacy Forum, will highlight the challenges and opportunities that multi-generational corporations face in post-pandemic economies.

Key topics of discussion include business innovation, sustainability, succession planning, and corporate governance.

Dr Abdulla Al Sada, CEO of Bahrain Chamber, emphasized during a recent press conference that one of the key initiatives of the current Board is the growth and sustainability of family businesses in Bahrain.

He went on to note that the Legacy Forum aligns with this objective by addressing the longevity of family businesses and how to enable the next generation of leaders in these enterprises.

Aseel Al Mohandis, the event Chairwoman, explained that the concept of Legacy Forum was initiated by members of second and third-generation family businesses in Bahrain.

These individuals recognized the need to organize an event that brings together all relevant parties to discuss the challenges and opportunities facing their companies and come up with strategies to empower these businesses, some of which have been in operation for over a century
