Zain Bahrain launches food waste management campaign

Zain Bahrain has launched a new Ramadan awareness campaign in collaboration with My Clean Plate, a non-profit group that raises awareness on minimizing food waste.
The awareness cam - paign has been launched on Zain Bahrain official Instagram account as reels videos, aiming to spread awareness by focusing on the first three stages of the “Food Waste Management Pyramid” which aims to improve the behavior of food consumption and directing the community towards responsible consumption of food resources.
This collaboration also supports the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 12 Responsible Consumption and Production.
Fatima Haider, Zain Bahrain Manager of Sustainability, and Inclusivity said, “We are honored to be collaborating with My Clean Plate to address food waste issue during Ramadan, by shedding the light on some local techniques that are considered sustainable alternatives to reduce food waste, reuse, and extend the shelf life of certain food that support the local Biodiversity on the long run.”
Aysha Fareed, Founder of My Clean Plate added, “We are delighted to partner with Zain Bahrain to expand the reach of our awareness campaign, and to achieve our goals in food waste reduction by providing practical and feasible methods to help the community preserve the blessing of food.”
This initiative comes as part of Zain Bahrain’s sustainability strategy to have a strategic approach to maximize awareness over different aspects in the community, as well as, supporting and empowering a team full of purpose-driven youth towards achieving their sustainable community development goals.
